The Hey Shorty: Youth Film Festival is an opportunity for young filmmakers in Riverside County to share their voices, visions, and creativity.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Hey Shorty accepts submissions from girls, LGBTQIA+, and gender-fluid filmmakers from ALL backgrounds.

FILMMAKERS MUST BE UNDER THE AGE OF 19.

MUST BE ENROLLED IN A SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MIDDLE SCHOOL OR HIGH SCHOOL.

MUST BE 1-10 MINUTES IN LENGTH.

MUST FALL INTO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

NARRATIVE

DOCUMENTARY

MUSIC VIDEO

EXPERIMENTAL

ANIMATION

BE IN ENGLISH OR WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES.

By submitting your film to the Hey Shorty Film Festival, you are agreeing to the following conditions:

You agree that you are the exclusive creator and producer of the submitted film.

You give permission for your film to be hosted on www.heyshorty.net and on our YouTube channel as part of our virtual film festival.

All music and other copyrighted material including still and moving images used must be original or the filmmakers must have obtained permission to use the copyrighted material in their film.

By submitting your film to Hey Shorty you allow our organization to distribute and share your film on any and all media, including showing the film to the public, partner festivals, and social media.

By participating in the Hey Shorty Film Festival, filmmakers release Hey Shorty from any and all liability, losses, damages, and legal actions directly or indirectly, related to the submitted film at any time.
